PHP / Symfony developer

Background

Like every beginner, I learned by scouring blogs and forums. The learning is far from over (will it ever be?), but I think it is time for me to give something back and share what I know.

This blog covers the languages I enjoy working with and their tools: PHP, Symfony, MySQL, Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ, as well as Debian server administration. Hosting is essential when you work with web technologies.

I started coding for fun on personal projects in 2004, and switched careers to become a professional developer in 2008. Coding has always been fun for me and, even though my role has changed over time, I still love getting back to the code. Today, in the age of AI, things are changing: I write less code, because AI delivers faster than I do. My job is evolving, and I don't know yet where it is heading.

Expertise

PHP Symfony MySQL RabbitMQ Elasticsearch

I have seen a lot of PHP versions come and go since PHP 5.1, and the same goes for frameworks, since my early days with Symfony 1.0. Experience builds up, and expertise takes shape. I have had the opportunity to go further by introducing RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch in several companies, from proof of concept to production, and sometimes all the way to maintenance.
